Become a cultural leader

Published Wednesday, 05 February 2020

People across Coventry are being offered an exciting opportunity to be a part of the 2021 legacy and join a City of Culture Leadership programme.

City of Culture Leadership programme

The team has now launched a leadership programme and is aiming to recruit 15 people who live or work in the city to form a two-year training programme.

The training will give them the skills and leadership experience they need to become future cultural leaders in the city.

No prior experience is needed, and the team is looking for all backgrounds and any age from 18 upwards.

There will also be financial support to cover expenses and time spent away from work.

A spokesperson for the 2021 team said: “If you’ve always wanted to make big arts and cultural changes in Coventry, we’ll give you an office space to work from as well as leadership training, mentoring and sector placement opportunities locally, nationally and internationally.

“Come and develop your big ideas with help from experts to make them a reality.”

Applications must be made by 28 February and more information and the application form can be found on the 2021 website.

Three free taster sessions are being held to give a taste of what being a part of the Leadership Programme would be like. They’re your chance to hear from inspiring speakers, participate in group activities, ask questions about the programme and find  out more about how to apply.

You don’t need to attend any of the taster sessions to apply for the programme, but if you would like to attend, please book early as spaces are limited.
