Risk assessment and guidance for vulnerable employees

Published Friday, 12 June 2020

The Occupational Health, Safety and Wellbeing Service has developed COVID-19 specific risk assessment and guidance to support vulnerable employees within local authority schools.

The risk assessment looks to holistically assess individual employee risk to safeguard employees at most risk of adverse or serious reactions to Covid-19, based on the emerging data and evidence available.

Together with an Equality Impact Assessment (EIA) managers are required to ensure that an individual risk assessment is undertaken for those employees falling into vulnerable categories. This assessment should take into consideration employee’s age, gender, and ethnicity risk factors and also consider any health vulnerabilities described by the government.
