Coventry’s waste services carry on working through the new lockdown.

As we move into the second national lockdown Coventry’s bin crews, street cleaning teams and the household waste and recycling centre (tip) on London Road remains working.

Bin crews will collect as usual and the booking system at the tip remain in operation.

The Council is asking local people to help by following a few simple guidelines to help minimise the risk of transmitting the virus.

  • Please wipe down your bin handles both before and after collection

  • Any COVID-19 related waste needs to be double bagged and only put these in the bin after three days (72 hours)
  • Try to keep your visits to the recycling centre to a minimum - pre-booked appointments only

The waste services teams across Coventry City Council have all been working very hard throughout the pandemic and have had great support from the public.

Councillor Patricia Hetherton, Cabinet Member for City Services said “Our waste services teams have worked really hard through the pandemic and they continue to do a great job. They have had lots of support from local people and I know how much they have appreciated it. As we enter a second phase of lockdown the help local people can give will once again be vital – and I am sure we can count on Coventry people to play their part.”
