Summer is on its way and so is live theatre! At Coventry’s Albany Theatre, it’s full steam ahead as indoor venues are set to welcome audience members back through their doors in the coming months.

Kevin Shaw, CEO and Artistic Director of The Albany said:

“After a year like no other, we are thrilled to have a positive plan going forward following the Government roadmap. Although we understand these reopening dates are subject to change, we are confident that with the great success of the vaccine rollout and dedication of the public, our summer season will go ahead as planned. Our diverse programme is packed with outstanding professional and community productions, weekend festivals, and exciting partnership projects that will showcase the development the theatre is making in its arts for life initiative within the community. We are itching to share our fun-packed season with events that will welcome theatregoers back with a bang!”

The theatre’s summer season will go on sale Thursday 1 April at midday (this is no April fools!) with a spectacular schedule of events that will delight the whole family. This summer is no different, The Ballroom Boys, Ian Waite and Vincent Simone, are back with ‘act two’ of their glamourous show filled with dance, song and comedy galore.

The Albany is well known for its superb tribute acts and music, this year they’ve got some of the best from across the county. They kick it off with Pulp Friction, the world’s best Quentin Tarantino live tribute band. This uniquely cool and raucous live band will bring audiences classic soul, funk, blues, and country soundtracks. Be Bop a Lula provides boogie-worthy hits from four of the greatest rock ‘n’ roll icons of all time this September. Plus, The Bohemians promise to take audiences on a high-energy roller-coaster ride of a concert, featuring the back catalogue of one of the world’s most popular and iconic rock acts of all time in Queens Greatest Hits.

Get your autograph books at the ready because The Albany has no shortage of stars from stage and screen this summer season.
