Coventry residents are being invited to take part in a survey to let us know your thoughts on how we can achieve the health and well-being priorities for the city, following the Covid-19 pandemic.
The 2019-2023 Health and Wellbeing Strategy set out ambitions to help people stay healthier for longer, enabling children to fulfill their potential and supporting communities to be safe and sustainable.
As a result of the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic on our city and residents and the changes within the health and social care system, a review of our Strategy priorities has taken place. A review of information and data, as well as feedback from partners and stakeholders, indicates that our existing priorities still remain relevant.
For the next two years, the Coventry Health and Wellbeing Board (HWBB) will focus on three key areas in order to drive improvements in health and wellbeing in the city.
These key areas are:
Cabinet member for Public Health and Sport at Coventry City Council, Cllr Kamran Caan, said:
“I am pleased to see that the Health and Wellbeing Strategy is being refreshed. It is most important that following the pandemic that we ask people directly what is important to them and what should be prioritised by way of health and wellbeing support to make sure that the recommendations for improvement are the right ones for our residents.
“People and communities are at the heart of everything we do and working in partnership to make a real difference to the health and wellbeing of our city and this strategy will help shape better futures and local services be the best they can be.
“I encourage all residents to take the time to complete the survey and have their say.”
Director of Public Health and Wellbeing at Coventry City Council, Liz Gaulton, said: "We are very proud of the hard work that went into this strategy and it has already helped us and our city partners to focus their efforts on responding effectively to the health and wellbeing needs of our local community. “
“When we developed our Strategy in 2019, we agreed we would review and refresh our short-term priorities every 18 months to ensure that these still reflect the key issues and challenges facing Coventry residents, and we cannot ignore the impact the pandemic has had on the health and wellbeing of many in our communities.
“We care about the views of our residents and would like their thoughts on our priorities through this short survey that will feed into the revised strategy.”
Please take a minute to complete the short survey and let us know your thoughts on how we can achieve our priorities and what success could look like.
