Two new drop sites set to open for residents to drop off their rubbish

Published Tuesday, 04 January 2022

Two new drops sites are set to open this Thursday, 6 January at Wyken Slough and Leicester Row car park to provide more options for residents who want to drop off any waste.

With bin lorry drivers, as things stand, planned to be on strike tomorrow (5 Jan), Thursday (6 Jan) and all of next week, Coventry City Council has currently opened four drop sites where residents can take their securely bagged waste to be disposed of.

The sites have been busy over the Christmas period with thousands of vehicles visiting Cheylesmore car park, War Memorial Park, Hearsall Common and Sowe Common car park.

The two additional sites in Wyken Slough and Leicester Row car park will provide additional places for people to drop their securely-bagged waste off to.

All sites will be open from 8am -4.30pm, seven days a week.

There is no need to book but sites can’t take bulky waste.
