Police incident on Earlsdon Avenue North

Published Monday, 10 January 2022

As we work closely in partnership with Police colleagues, we are providing a reminder about an ongoing incident at a house in Earlsdon Avenue North, Coventry.

Unfortunately, residents, businesses, and Earlsdon Primary School are severely disrupted by the cordon. The school is using remote learning.

The Police and partners involved are sorry for the inconvenience, but the priority is the safety of those involved.

Currently there are road closures which cover: Earlsdon Avenue North with Kensington Road / Highland Road, top of Westwood Road with Earlsdon Avenue North, Newcombe Road, Earlsdon Avenue North at the roundabout with Albany Road, and finally Poplar Road with Newcombe Road.

The Police are asking people to please avoid the area where possible. They will be issuing updates on the situation as soon as they can, which we will also share.

The library at Earlsdon Avenue North and Albany Road has been opened for residents and officers to use.  We will keep this under review as the situation develops.

If you’re from the area, you can get updates on this incident by following at @Coventry_Police on Twitter and by signing up to WMNow.co.uk.
