We welcome picnics at Coombe Country Park. There are picnic benches throughout the park for your convenience, including two accessible benches near the blue badge car park. Please ask at the Visitor Centre for more details.
BBQs are allowed at Coombe Country Park. Please note that there are no longer purpose built BBQ stands. You may still bring your own BBQ to Coombe within the designated areas (this no longer includes Wrautum's Field). To help prevent damage to grass or park benches, we have installed metal plates on the picnic benches to protect the wood from hot barbecues. We ask that you either put your barbecue on a stand or on top of these metal plates to reduce the risk of fire and associated damage.
BBQ map and information can be downloaded and leaflets are available from the Visitor Centre. All picnic tables operate on a first come first served basis and cannot be reserved.
If you are planning a big event which involves anything larger than a garden sized gazebo or domestic sized BBQ then please contact us on firstname.lastname@example.org to discuss booking and applicable fees.
We have seen an increasing number of open fires in the park near the picnic benches which are damaging the grass areas and posing a risk of greater damage to the parkland. Please do not bring charcoals to the park unless you have a suitable BBQ to use them in. Open fires are not permitted anywhere in the park.
Please remember to collect up all rubbish and take it home with you. BBQs must be extinguished before being disposed in litter bins.
During fine weather there are several catering concessions offering refreshment in the park:
These mobile catering units only accept cash, and there is no cash machine on site.
