Adventure Courses

Adventure courses at the centre focus on key elements of character and personal development through a purpose-built practical experience outside of the classroom. These courses will cover key elements of the PSHE curriculum, supporting the development of vital knowledge, skills and attributes they need to manage their lives now and in the future.

Through immersing themselves in the outdoors, rivers, mountains, and coast, groups will learn about the natural environment, face new challenges and push themselves out of their comfort zones.

Themes include a focus on key traits and virtues such as:

  • Working as part of a team
  • Communication and leadership and fairness
  •  Self-regulation, grit and bravery
  •  Resilience and problem solving
  • Judgement and perspective
  • Gratitude and humour
  • Independence and co-operation in living together
