Public Voice Group Privacy Notice
Coventry City Council (CCC) complies with the Data Protection Act and the UK GDPR and is registered with the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) as a Data Controller.
This Privacy Notice explains how NIHR HDRC Coventry (part of Coventry City Council) will process and use personal information collected from you as part of your participation in the Public Voice Group.

We will collect your personal data in order for you to participate in the Public Voice Group.

We will also share your information with the National Institute for Health Research who are funding HDRC Coventry for evaluation and monitoring purposes. No personally identifiable information will be shared as part of this process.

How long we will keep your information
For participants of the Public Voice Group, we will keep your details for the duration of your involvement. Once you have notified us of your intention to withdraw your involvement, we will securely dispose of all personal information in line with Coventry City Council’s retention policy.
For participants who register their interest, but do not wish to take part, we will hold your information for a period of 8 weeks, after which your information will be securely destroyed in line with Coventry City Council’s retention policy.

Withdrawal of consent
Where personal data is processed on the basis of consent, you will have the right to withdraw that consent. However, Coventry City Council process personal data that it is necessary to do so in order to comply with our legal obligations and to enable us to perform tasks carried out in the public interest.
Complaints
You have the right to submit a complaint if you are unhappy with the way your request is handled or disagree with a decision made by the council regarding your data. In these circumstances you can contact the Data Protection Team (DPO) and request a review of the decision dpoteam@coventry.gov.uk
