Coventry HDRC’s ‘So What?’ Club November 2025

The Coventry HDRC organised the last 'So What?' Club of the year, which featured Dr Eloise Parr, Insight and Impact Officer at CV Life.

Dr Eloise Parr, along with Eve Wang, Research Assistant for the Coventry HDRC, hosted this month’s session.

Eloise presented a quantitative paper about “The association between park visits, outdoor play and child social-emotional competency in a multi-ethnic, urban cohort".

Take a look at the paper and, if you are interested, look at the Critical Appraisal Skills Programme checklists to assess a paper's quality and usefulness.

Attendees had the opportunity to discuss the findings of the study and whether the methods were appropriate for answering the posed questions. We then talked about how the findings can be applied to work here in Coventry.

We were pleased to welcome 22 attendees. These included representatives from our HDRC partner organisations, as well as representatives from various Coventry City Council directorates, and Volunary, Community, and Social Enterprise (VCSE) organisations.

The next 'So What?' club will take place in January 2026. Everyone is welcome to come along, regardless of their experience of academic research. To register, please complete the online form. You will then receive a calendar invite.

We are looking forward to seeing you at the Club in 2026!
