Coventry VCFSE organisations are building research capacity through Research Ambassadors.
Coventry’s Voluntary, Community, Faith, and Social Enterprise (VCFSE) sector is playing a vital role in shaping the city’s approach to research and tackling health inequalities, through a new cohort of Research Ambassadors (RAs) supported by Coventry’s Health Determinants Research Collaboration (HDRC).

We are currently publishing individual profiles to showcase the experience and work of our RAs:
- Laura Evans, Aptitude Organisation CIC
- Steffi Price, Carriers of Hope
- Steve Crump, Feed the Hungry / Coventry Food Bank
- Last Mufaba, Inini Initiative Ltd
These RAs act as champions within their organisations, building confidence in using evidence, supporting data-informed decision-making, and connecting community insight with research. The current VCFSE RAs represent a diverse range of organisations across the city:
- ACH (Ashley Community & Housing Ltd) – Dr Jill Court
- Action Family Network – Martin Asamoah
- Aptitude Organisation CIC – Laura Evans
- Carriers of Hope – Steffi Price
- Central Hall
- Coventry Citizens Advice – Verena Reveley
- Feed the Hungry / Coventry Food Bank – Steve Crump
- Inini Initiative Ltd – Last Mufaba
Through this growing network, RAs are able to share knowledge, collaborate and support each other, creating a stronger foundation for research across the VCFSE sector. The programme aims to support organisations to:
- Increase their involvement in research activity
- Strengthen their ability to use data and evidence in practice
- Contribute to research that reflects the needs and experiences of Coventry’s communities
