A second cohort of colleagues across the Council are stepping into their new roles as Research Ambassadors.
As part of Coventry’s Health Determinants Research Collaboration (HDRC), the Research Ambassadors (RAs) are helping to embed a stronger culture of data and evidence-based decision-making across Coventry City Council's (CCC) services. By connecting research with day-to-day practice, they play a key role in ensuring that decisions are informed by the best available insights.

These RAs work across a range of service areas, reflecting the breadth of work that contributes to health and wellbeing in Coventry. From social care and corporate parenting to environmental services and continuous improvement. In their roles, CCC RAs:
- Promote the use of research and data within teams
- Strengthen links between council services and academic partners

- Identify opportunities for research to address key challenges
By building this internal network, Coventry City Council is strengthening its ability to respond to complex challenges such as health inequalities, ensuring services are shaped by both evidence and local insight. The ambassador role also supports professional development, enabling colleagues to build their skills and contribute to wider organisational learning.
