Hello and welcome to Coventry City Council

Please read and follow the instructions if you are a new starter joining the Council and using ICT equipment (laptop etc.).

Access to corporate systems

Before you start your new role, we need you to download an app to your mobile phone which will give you access to the corporate systems and information. 

The app is called ‘Microsoft Authenticator’ and can be downloaded from the Google Play Store if you use an Android device or the App Store for iPhone users. 

Why do you need Microsoft Authenticator?

MFA Multifactor Authentication helps us to safely secure the data we hold as an organisation. You might be aware of using MFA for example when signing up for online banking or using a website which requires you to provide a second method of authentication. 

Shortly after you start with us and have collected your equipment, our Digital Services Team colleagues will contact you to set up MFA using the Authenticator app. It would be beneficial if this app was available on your mobile phone before you are contacted. Please speak to your new line manager if you have queries about this process before your start date.

Collecting your IT equipment

Your line manager will contact you to confirm your arrangements for your first day which will include the collection of your IT equipment, if this is relevant to your role.

IT Equipment can be collected from the Smart Lockers in the Council House Room 18. All set-up instructions will be provided with the equipment.
