Congratulations to our brilliant Sky Blues on promotion to the Premier League!
It is an incredible achievement and just reward for one of the most memorable and enjoyable seasons in the club’s long and rich history.
The return to the top flight after a 25-year absence sparked scenes of celebration across the city. And rightly so!
Congratulations on behalf of the whole city to the players, manager, coaching staff, owner, and every single person associated with the club – on the pitch and off, it has been a real team effort.
A return to the Premier League means so much to all the fans who have followed them through the troubled times and have always believed that one day our club would be back where it belongs.
Now that moment has finally arrived!
We have seen over the season how the success of the club has cheered the city. Thousands have flocked to the CBS Arena for home games, and the knock-on effect and feel-good factor has been seen everywhere. It has been heart-warming to see how much the club means to Coventry and how the team has been inspired by that.
The season isn’t over yet, and there is still the title to play for and we wish the team well as it chases that silverware, but to have secured promotion early and avoided another nerve-racking play-off date at Wembley is a real cause for celebration.
That is why the Council is delighted to be partnering the club in holding an official parade and event so everyone can go along and cheer the team and show their appreciation.
Congratulations Coventry City FC, and our best wishes for a successful return to the Premier League and all the excitement next season will bring.
On Monday 4 May we will be partnering with Coventry City FC to celebrate their incredible promotion back to the Premier League.
On the day the city will turn blue with a bus parade and a one-day music festival held in the War Memorial Park.
Taking place from 1pm to 7pm, the festival will be an unforgettable day for supporters of all ages and a celebration of all things Cov.
Club players and management will lead an open-top bus parade through the streets of Coventry, bringing the celebrations direct to within the heart of our community.
Meanwhile, WE ARE BACK: LIVE will begin at 1pm and will feature a vibrant line-up of local music acts, showcasing the very best of Coventry’s diverse and exciting talent.
Across the park, fans can enjoy a wide range of food and drink options.
This will be a fully ticketed event, with tickets priced at £5 for Season Ticket holders and £10 for non-Season Ticket holders. Tickets to the event will be sold by Coventry City FC.
