Paul Ward – Head of ICT & Digital

Digital tools, technology and data are such an important aspect of any organisation and that is certainly the case here at Coventry City Council. From the day-to-day running of the many varied and diverse services the Council provides, through to the influencing and shaping of the organisation and city for the future - Digital is essential.

We have an interesting and exciting mix of more traditional digital tools alongside more cutting-edge technologies. The breadth of technology that we are involved in means that there is always lots to find out and learn, and always something new. Fundamentally, seeing that digital tools, technology and data have a direct positive impact on the lives of people in Coventry is what makes working in Digital so rewarding.

Oluremi Aremu – Head of Legal & procurement

Working at Coventry City Council is more than a job, it’s a mission to achieving excellence in what I do, and support is always on hand to help me achieve that goal.  My initial role as Major Projects Lead Lawyer and now Head of Legal and Procurement Services at Coventry City Council have inspired me. I undertake responsibilities that challenge me in different areas, whilst having managers who encourage and empower me to reach my full potential.

Coventry City Council shares in this ambition by being an organisation that is forward-thinking, together with the mindset and culture that provide a great team ethic, improvements in diversity and equality and being part of a team that looks to provide a platform for the next generation in being in a city where they can enjoy living and working.

Rhian Palmer – Head of Infrastructure Delivery

Working for the Council has afforded me some fantastic opportunities to transform parts of the city to benefit those who live and work here, including building a new railway station, transforming public realm, and creating new infrastructure to support regeneration. The Council has a bold vision for the city, and it’s great to be able to work with colleagues across the organisation and partners to deliver positive change.

Ramona McGarry - Customer Services & Digital Inclusion Apprentice Ramona

One of the aspects of my job that I find fascinating is just how many different projects #CovConnects are developing. Being able to work with different organisations and communities has opened my eyes to just how much is happening in Coventry, and to be able to play a part in positively affecting people’s lives is both soul touching and gratifying.

I can say that being an Apprentice has improved my confidence massively and has pointed me in a direction I never knew existed.
