Barclays Digital Champions

Are you passionate about helping others to thrive in the digital world? Become a Digital Champion.

#CovConnects has partnered with the Barclays Digital Champions programme to offer Barclays Digital Champion training sessions for voluntary, community and social enterprise organisations in Coventry.

These sessions bring people together from different roles in the community and organisations. You’ll all have one thing in common - the same passion for helping people with their digital skills. You don’t need to be a digital expert to become a Digital Champion. We’ll give you all the training, resources and support you need.

The aim of these sessions is to help you become a force for good in your community or organisation, helping bring to life the essential digital skills others need to thrive in the digital world around us. Working alongside other Digital Champions, you'll support our goal to improve digital inclusion across Coventry.

How do I sign up?

Signing up to take part is easy. Just register all participants on the Barclays Digital Wings site.  Then register to be Digital Champions on the website, ensuring that you use the code ‘COVCC’ when asked for an employer or organisation.

View the collection of upcoming dates. You can choose the sessions that best suit you, but you’ll need to book them in the right order to get the best experience from the programme.

What have others said about the programme?

Congratulations to colleagues from the Meet and Greet Team who have taken their first step towards becoming Digital Champions.

On 18 October 2023, the team took part in their first Digital Champion training session. The session, which was delivered by Barclays as part of Get Online Week, was centred around how the team could support residents who are new to technology or have low levels of digital literacy.

As part of the session, colleagues learned valuable skills while taking part in engaging and informative activities.

Elizabeth McDermott from the team enjoyed the session and said it taught her some essential skills.

She said: "I really enjoyed the session. I am not technically minded so I found it interesting to learn some new skills. We learned about different questions we can ask to understand resident needs. I am going to use some of these new question techniques when supporting our residents.”
