Transport and Infrastructure

Millions of pounds are being invested in Coventry's roads to create space for development and to make sure traffic flows more smoothly in the city, this ensures better air quality and enhanced mobility.

Digital Innovation and Communications

Recognised as a fundamental enabler of business success there are several initiatives in place to ensure the City and our businesses have access to the best communications and digital infrastructure possible, these include:

  1. Coventry is the 2nd best connected city in the UK – 96% full fibre. This is reflected in the OFCOM connected nations report [https://www.ofcom.org.uk/siteassets/resources/documents/research-and-data/multi-sector/infrastructure-research/connected-nations-2024/connected-nations-england-report-2024.pdf?v=386508].
  2. Deployment of small cells by Freshwave and BT on council assets is enabling increased coverage and capacity. This deployment is part of a broader initiative to meet the increasing data demands of the city’s residents and visitors.
  3. Through a joint bid with WM5G, JLR and Local Authority partners, Coventry became a 5G Innovation Region, accelerating the adoption of Industry 4.0 technologies, including 5G and data/AI.
  4. Coventry has access to a city-wide wireless network, utilising Coventry City Council assets.
