Who are we?
We are a team of experienced teachers who specialise in supporting primary and secondary age children and young people who are diagnosed with autism, or who present with social communication differences. We consider the child or young person’s strengths and needs and provide supportive and enabling strategies for the individual, their school and their parents/carers.
Information for children and young people:
We love meeting children and young people. Don't worry, we don't get you to do any work! We want to get to know you, find out what you are good at, what things are difficult for you and work together to make school a better place for you.
We want you to be proud of who you are. We are all different and that is ok. We all have things we are good at and things we struggle with and that is ok, too.
Our job is to make you feel good about yourself, give you the confidence to be who you want to be and to give you strategies to help you get there.
Information for parents/carers:
We know that your children are the most important things in the world to you. And we want to work with you to make sure that they can be the very best they can be. Being a parent is tough. And we don't always get it right. But you are not alone! We will work with you and the school to ensure that you child has the best experience possible.
Before we see your child, the school will ask you to fill in a form about your child, so that we have your views. We will talk to the school to find out what they think your child's strengths and difficulties are. We will talk to your child to find out their views. We may observe your child in their classroom and we may do some one-to-one work with your child to get to know them better. We may contact you via telephone or ask to meet with you.
Then we look at all the information we have and give suggestions about the things that school could do to better support your child. The school will share this information with you. We will check in with the school later to see how your child is doing, and if we need to give additional advice, we can.
Information for settings:
We are a traded service, bought in by schools. We work closely with schools to provide support for individuals, groups and school staff, and we also deliver staff training on a bespoke basis.
Schools request work at termly planning meetings. Parents must give their consent and their views are requested before work begins. Information from parents, pupil and school is used alongside our own professional judgement to determine priorities and next steps. Recommendations for supportive strategies and interventions which will have a positive impact on pupil progress are provided to school. Progress can be reviewed by us or by school.

- assemblies around Autism Awareness
- learning walks/Environmental audits
- informal assessments of individual children
- attendance at My Support Plan meetings and Annual Reviews
- formal reports
- training packages
