Course Outline
This course has been designed and is delivered by a professionally qualified and experienced delivery team of industry experts, careers advisers and teachers.  The course:  - Provides evidence for schools in relation to meeting Gatsby Benchmarks.   - Is highly successful in ensuring learners see the connection between education and employment  - Gives learners the skills to increase education and career knowledge, opportunities and therefore longer term success.  It is ideal for any student who is: - exploring their career options  - would like the opportunity to learn both technical and employability skills from industry experts - giving them a boost in their career prospects During the course, the student will:  - have professional support from a L6 or L7 experienced Careers Adviser - capture the employability skills they develop through our Skills Builder passport and their technical skills in our portfolio of evidence. The course is designed to provide a basic introduction to skills and knowledge required to carry out Upcycling projects in a sustainable, environment-friendly way.

Student Expected Outcomes
Learners will develop basic manual skills and knowledge about a range of tools, materials and equipment used in upcycling everyday items including bicycles and furniture. The also learn essential Health and Safety, and how to maintain a safe and hygienic work place. They will also develop team working skills and gain insight into how their new skills and knowledge could be used in jobs and careers in future.

Venues (to be confirmed) are selected to provide good value, high-quality and safe facilities suitable for the course i.e. Classroom, Workshop or Kitchen The course may also be provided for individual schools on their own premises for a small group of learners. The price for this is available upon application
Programme length
The course normally runs one day per week for 6 weeks but can be extended or run more than one day a week. The course can only run with a minimum of 6 learners which may be all from one school or a mix from different schools.
