We will deliver our lifting potential programme.
Our lifting potential programme consists of 2 levels.
Level 1 involves us teaching the students an RQF Focus award level 1 in assisting a gym instructor which is equivalent to a GCSE level 1-3.
This course is designed to as a pre curser to our level 2 course giving the students an introduction to a career in the fitness industry and is based mostly around practical gym work.
The course is designed to take the students foundational knowledge gained through our level 1 course and expand on that. This course is more in depth and once completed will allow them to work in gyms as soon as they turn 16.
The course again is highly practical based and is assessed through a combination of portfolio work and practical assessments.
FOUNDATIONAL ENGLISH AND MATHS
These will have dedicated slots on our timetable and be taught through the ASDAN Maths and English level 1 courses which are equivalent to a 1-3 GCSE grade.
Course Modules
The course will cover 9 units as follows;
1)structure and function of muscles,
2) structure and function the skeletal system
3) structure and function of the circulatory system
4) nutrition
5) understanding the principles of fitness
6)effects of exercise on health
7) health and safety risks in exercise
8)how to plan an exercise session
9) assisting a gym instructor.
Level 2 involves teaching students the RQF level 2 focus award in delivering gym based exercise. This is equivalent to GCSE level 4-9.
