Designed for neurodivergent learners and those requiring alternative provision (100% of the current Coventry College cohort identify as neurodiverse). The course teaches core digital competencies—systems thinking, UX design, 3D asset creation, and rapid prototyping—skills that prepare learners for pathways in games, film, architecture, and eLearning.
• Group Size: Maximum 10 learners (reduced as needed to suit sensory/group dynamics).
• Timetable: 2 days per week (1 day Media Production + 1 optional day Functional Skills).
Curriculum & Qualifications
• Media Production Day: Learners work toward an AIM Group Level 1 Award or Level 2 Certificate in Working in the Digital Industries.
• Alternative Accreditation: Uses the AQA Unit Award Scheme to certify individual task completions for learners struggling with formal academic structures.
• Functional Skills Day (Optional): Live, online English and Maths tuition tailored to initial assessments, delivered by specialist provider Nisai Learning.
Industry Experience & Transition Support
• Practical Experience: Tutors are active industry producers for Culture Coventry. Learners gain work experience creating interactive exhibition content and build an entry-ready portfolio and CV.
• Personalised Progression: Individual Learning Plans (ILPs) set SMART targets for career goals and character development.
• Transition Planning: Includes City College taster visits, joint transition meetings (school, CAP provider, college), and induction follow-ups for vulnerable learners.
