- Overview
- This course is for those who have little or no prior knowledge of BSL. The course will enable you to communicate using sign language at a basic level on a range of everyday topics. The course will enable you to decide whether you want to develop your skills further and work towards a ntionally recognised BSL Level 1 Award.
- Course level and content
- There are no formal entry requirements. However, enrolling on the course means you are committing to attending regularly. The approach will be friendly and informal. A range of teaching methods will be used which may include whole class activities, pair and small group work,role play, games and quizzes, and handouts.
- What do you need?
- Your tutor may suggest certain resources you could purchase to assist in your learning, but these would be optional. You should bring paper, pens and a ring binder to keep your notes and hand-outs in. Access to the internet at home, though not essential, will enable you to further your learning, as many free resources are available to language learners. More information on this will be given during the course
