Course Outline: Accredited nature based programme developing environmental awareness, wellbeing, ecology, horticulture and practical outdoor skills. Delivered using the Therapy Wood Model: Regulate → Engage → Learn → Flourish.
Course Modules: Modules: Nature Connection, Wellbeing, Environmental Awareness, Ecology & Habitats, Practical Outdoor Skills.
Awarding Body: Open Awards
Student Expected Outcomes: Qualification achievement; improved confidence; increased engagement; strengthened wellbeing; progression to vocational pathways.
Key Stage course delivered to: KS3–KS5
Admissions Criteria: Suitable for students needing nature based therapeutic development; supports SEMH, EBSA, anxiety, ASD, ADHD and sensory needs.
Staff Experience: Delivered by a qualified Occupational Therapist and experienced outdoor practitioners.
Delivery Area: Sensory rich woodland environment including horticulture areas, animal care spaces, seasonal ecology zones, quiet indoor regulation rooms and a guided outdoor movement pathway featuring climbing, swinging and a zip line.
Programme length: Termly (half‑term or full‑term bookings)
Transport Provided: Can be organised
Days Of Delivery: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday
Times of Delivery: AM/PM session
Staff Ratio: 1:1 Small Group: up to 1:3 (maximum three learners per group) Small group sessions are offered only where appropriate, safe, and aligned with individual needs. Group composition is carefully planned to ensure emotional safety, sensory compatibility and positive peer interaction.
Cost of Course: 1:1 — £212 per 2.5hr session / £425 per 5hr session *Group of 3 — £300 per 2.5hr session / £600 per 5hr session * In school work £85 per hour *Transport/travel charged separately
