Work experience can be introduced as part of a young person's wider Adapt Ed mentoring programme when they are ready for this next step. We work with the young person to understand their interests, strengths and future aspirations before exploring appropriate opportunities to experience a real working environment. Preparation and ongoing mentoring can support the young person before, during and after the experience, helping them understand workplace expectations, build confidence and reflect on what they have learned.

Additional Notes
Work experience forms part of Adapt Ed's wider mentoring and progression offer rather than a standalone guaranteed work placement. Young people can first explore careers, interests and workplace expectations with their mentor before progressing into an appropriate real-world experience when ready. Adapt Ed will work with the young person and relevant professionals to determine readiness and identify an appropriate opportunity.
