Course aims:
- To further develop the practitioner’s knowledge and skills base in undertaking a Section 42 Enquiry and consider implications of the Care Act 2014
There will be a workbook to review prior to the session.
Course outcomes:
- Understand the legal and policy framework relating to Safeguarding Adults
- Understand the local frameworks in relation to section 42 enquiries
- Feel confident in adopting the Making Safeguarding Personal for a person with care and support needs within an enquiry
- Analyse the information gathered and assess risk through a positive risk assessment approach
- Understand when to instruct an advocate in adult safeguarding enquiries
- Understand the importance of adopting multi-agency approaches within safeguarding adult enquiries
