Course aim:

This qualification enables learners to develop the fundamental technical skills and underpinning knowledge and understanding required to become competent in the job role.

These cover the following areas:

  • communication
  • personal development
  • equality and inclusion
  • duty of care
  • safeguarding
  • person-centred approaches
  • health and safety
  • handling information.

It also enables the learners to develop appropriate professional attitudes and behaviours that will support personal success in their job role and the long-term success of their organisation. Enrolling on this diploma provides the
opportunity to achieve a nationally-recognised vocationally specific qualification.

Course outcomes:

In order to meet the apprenticeships standards, apprentices must:

  1. Achieve the Level 2 Diploma in Care (England)
  2. Complete the Care Certificate
  3. Attain a minimum of level 1 English
  4. Attain a minimum of level 1 in Maths
  5. Undertake an enhanced DBS check before starting the qualification.

In addition to these, candidates will be required to complete an End Point Assessment which will contain 2 components:

  1. Situational judgment test– multiple choice
  2. Professional discussion

Each component of end-point assessment is graded. Apprentices will also receive a grade for the overall end-point assessment.

This will be Pass/Merit/Distinction.

Adult Care Worker Diploma Level 2

Target group
This qualification is aimed at front line staff with job titles such as: Care Assistant, Care Worker, Support Worker, Personal Assistant, Relief Team Worker, Support Worker - Supported Living, Key Worker in Residential Settings, Key Worker in Domiciliary Services, Key Worker in Day Services, Home Care Support Worker, Substance Misuse Worker, Learning Disability Support Worker, Mental Health Support Worker, Mental Health Outreach Worker and Re-enablement Worker.

Application for this qualification is ascertained through supervision with your manager.
