Opens music with a screen that says: ‘What to expect from Coventry City Council during your search for a settled home’

Screen fades and is replaces with ‘and to help you to understand some of the difficulties’

Screen changes to display text that says ‘13000 households on the waiting list’ and a video of a housing officer next to it saying “During the housing crises there is a severe shortage of Social Housing available in Coventry, there are currently over 13000 households on the waiting list. The best option to find housing in Coventry is in the private sector.”

The video then transitions to a screen to display text that says, ‘Your Housing Assessment’ and a housing officer saying “During your housing assessment your housing officer will work with you to try to resolve your housing need and where possible they will try to prevent you from losing your home. We will work with you to create a personal housing plan that sets out what you and your housing officer will be required to do to address your housing situation.”

The video then transitions to a screen to display text that says, ‘Private Rented Housing’ and a housing officer saying “As there are far more private rented properties on the market, this means that there is much more opportunity for flexibility, this also means you can choose the right property which suits your needs and in an area of your choice. Your housing officer can support you with this process.”

The video then transitions to a screen to display text that says, ‘Suitable and affordable’ and a housing officer saying “We can offer you a range of incentives to help you secure accommodation in the private sector. This includes assistance with Discretionary Housing payments, and we can help you with a deposit and rent in advance. We can also refer you for benefits and debt advice. Your housing officer will help you explore all of these options.

The video ends on a screen that says ‘www.coventry.gov.uk’
