Hello, I'm Cllr Jim O'Boyle from Coventry City Council. I'm here today to announce that Coventry City Council have entered into a partnership with a government agency and the Combined Authority to bring together both energy companies and suppliers and specialists to understand how energy of the future is going to supply both the businesses of the future and also the housing of the future but it's also about how we move away from fossil fuels to renewable energy. Coventry is leading the way on climate change and we've got lots of fantastic initiatives in our city whether it's UK Battery Industrialization Centre, whether it's having the most electric vehicle charging points in the country outside of London, whether it's turning all our buses from diesel into electric, whether it's trialling a new very light rail system. All of these things are pointing in the direction of the green industrial revolution not just about in effect having clean green energy but also having the jobs and the economic opportunities that that then provides. So we want to bring these partners together to understand both how we get renewable energy away from fossil fuels and how we also source that energy and actually store that energy where it needs to go in a clean, green way. So, today as I said it's our one and a half million pound innovative idea to bring the specialist together to understand how Coventry can lead the way on clean green renewable energy for the economy of the future, for the businesses of the future, for our people today in order to protect and save our planet.
