BASS provides short term accommodation and support to men and women, aged 18 and over, in shared and self-contained houses/flats across England and Wales. It is available to courts and prison governors for those who would otherwise be in prison due to not having a suitable address.
BASS can be considered as a bail address, and for those being released from custody on home detention curfew.
Whilst in BASS properties, service users can be referred for assistance for a range of support needs e.g. alcohol and drug use, relationships, accessing training and employment, and are supported in finding move-on accommodation.
Referrals can only be made by court or prison staff, but for general information, and an informal discussion, use the contact details above.
