This park is divided into 2 quite separate halves by Spencer Avenue. On one side of the road is a large triangular open grassed area, bordered by a beautiful avenue of trees, and overlooking the rear of King Henry VIII School.
On the other side of the road is the smaller park. More formal in design, it is enclosed by hedging and has formal flower beds and lawns. In the summer this half hosts events such as the Bands in Park concerts.
There is an active Friends group for the park.

Park open 24 hours a day.
The toilets are now open when the pavilion cafe is open on Wednesdays, Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays, from 11am to 4pm.
The outside toilet is open when the bowlers are in the park and for some tennis sessions. - Accessibility
