Child exploitation is a priority for Coventry
Safeguarding Children Partnership. We are working
closely with partners and communities to raise
awareness and create additional resources for
everyone to use in Coventry.
This course has been developed by Coventry Horizon
and provides attendees with an introductory
understanding on child exploitation, including the
different types of exploitation, push and pull factors
and how to report concerns. Anyone working in

This course aims to increase delegates’ knowledge and awareness of CSE, as well as show them how to spot the signs of CSE. Furthermore, it will give delegate’s knowledge on who to contact in such situations and how to handle it/empathise with people involved.
By the end of the course participants will:
- Increase awareness of Sexual exploitation and abuse of power and control in relationships.
- Increase awareness of how easy it can be to get drawn into sexual exploitation and how hard it can be to get out.
- Gain increased knowledge of relevant and appropriate services that can offer support to young people around sexual exploitation e.g. Barnardo's.
- Enhance skills in spotting the signs of sexual exploitation.
- Enhance skills and confidence in discussing the subject of CSE.
