Coventry City Council is refreshing its priorities for the future. so much has changed over the last few years that we need to make sure they're the right ones. we call working together with all of our residents and partners a One Coventry approach and this plan will be known as the One Coventry plan. The plan shows what we think our priorities should be until 2030. Your views on this are important as we achieve the best opportunities for Coventry by working together so we need to agree what we concentrate on. A One Coventry approach will help us bring people and organizations from all of our communities together to work as one to make the biggest positive difference to those who live and work in our city.

We believe our three main priorities should be:

  • to improve the outcomes and tackle inequalities for people and communities in our city
  • increase the prosperity for those who live and work in our city
  • and tackle the causes and consequences of climate change

But what does this mean?

Improving outcomes and tackling inequalities means creating communities where residents get the best possible start in life, experience good health and age well in a city that celebrates diversity and protects the most vulnerable. Improving outcomes for local people will also help us build prosperity across the city - there is a clear link between better wealth and better health we want to create a city where businesses can start and grow, and new jobs can be created. We all know the importance of tackling climate change; we need a focus on tackling the causes of climate change and lessen the inevitable results that will come from this. Being at the heart of a future green industrial revolution will also create more jobs for our residents.

To achieve all this, we do not have a bottomless pot of money, so we have to make the best with what we've got. We can't achieve all these ambitious plans on our own which is why we need to work in a One Coventry way with you and our partner organizations. But what do you think? Are these things important to you? give us your views by filling in our short survey at coventry.gov.uk/ocp, that's coventry.gov.uk/ocp
