I'm here at the urban airport here in the centre of Coventry, this is a world first happening right here. Before I take you on a little tour of what you can expect to see I just want to put it into context because coventry is involved in a number of interesting and futuristic projects in terms of the world of modern and forward-looking transport. Imagine getting off the train in our new 82 million pound railway station and jumping onto an e-scooter, or perhaps getting onto our new very light rail that will be on the streets of Coventry, or jumping into an autonomous car that drives itself and this is another example of Coventry looking to the future. So here I am as I said at the airport I'm just going to go through security so it's just like an airport as you can imagine when you go here’s the security it's probably going to catch me out because I've got some metal on me there so as you go through there you see it's caught me it's caught me so it's done me. It's exactly what you go through at a normal airport and of course, you see the word there - departures - but follow me and you can come up these steps and this is what you do once you've gone through all the security checks you come up the steps here and you go to what is in effect the gate where you actually catch the drone itself and the drone would be located on this amazing platform here that actually rises right up to the perimeter of the roof here where the drone would then physically actually take off. Now of course the law isn't available whereby we can actually have passengers taking part in drones and flying visits at the moment, however, we know that the government are looking at legislation around this and other modes of new transport but if you think about goods being transported you think about the amount of traffic this could take off the road, you think about carbon zero and our journey towards reducing our carbon footprint both as a city, as a country and as individuals this is just another example of it Coventry's urban airport flying taxis, flying drones and it's a reality this isn't the future it's happening now.
