We're here on Barker Butts Lane. As you can see you've got the tunnel behind us which is now a segregated cycle path. It's looking good it's still in construction but what elements of this do you find particularly important part for cyclists of our city? I think the safety aspects Jim are really important. I think the keeping um the segregated cycleway away from the traffic encourages people to actually think I don't mind cycling, I'm not on the roads, the the traffic doesn't bother me. This is really safe. As you go underneath the archway here brings you out right the way into town. It's not finished yet but we're getting there and this is all part of the bigger thing in Coventry to sort of make sure that we have a cycle route that actually embraces the city. I can see all these new trees that are being planted here. That's that's a pretty impressive part of what we're doing here as well greening the city. It is I mean we've got 22 trees here 18 of them new trees and yes they are making the the cycleway really really lovely. As they mature you'll see it more in the springtime you're starting to see it already. And new hedgerows as well and we're protecting existing trees as well because we've actually moved the cycle path in order to actually make sure we keep the trees in place. Yep we are. We're making sure that we do as much as possible part of the air quality of the trees the the as you say the bushes that we have on the side making sure that we green as much as we can. Okay so our commitment to our environment making sure our air quality is as best as it could be and rolling out cycle paths to give safe places for cyclists to go and I'll leave you with this thought. If we don't build these cycle paths those reluctant cyclists definitely will not take it up and we're already starting to see an increase the number of cyclists on these new paths in and around the city and there'll be more to come.
