LIFE - sometimes it’s happening to you, and sometimes it’s happening because of you.

Look at this guy - that’s me - running from the latest in a series of bad choices.

I wasn’t ready to listen.

Things got worse.

I gave up on myself.

I struggled to work with the system.

And so the system came down on me.

It could all have been so different.

I should have seen the Youth Justice Service were giving me a chance.

I wanted to join the army, but now I had a Referral Order, I was worried I wouldn’t be able to apply.

YJS worked with me to make a plan, to complete my Referral Order, and work towards my goal of getting into the army.  

I wrote a letter to apologise to the victim..

..and took part in community service..

I started to think differently about my choices ,

and the changes I would need to make

to give myself the best chance…

and become the best version of me.

None of us get to do it over,

but you get the support to make things better

To do right by yourself, for your own future.

It wasn’t always easy, but I’m glad I worked with Coventry YJS.

Without them, it could all have been so different…
