Course Details:
To provide an understanding of what is meant by the phrase No recourse to public funds (NRPF), who are subject to it and the implications, what is and isn’t included in the definition public funds, what alternative support is available to those who are subject to the condition, and in what circumstances and how the restriction can be disapplied
Course Outcomes:
By the end of the course participants will be:
• Appraised of the purported rationale for the introduction of the NRPF and the
development of the concept
• Clear about who is and who isn’t subject to NRPF
• Aware of possible alternative support available for someone subject to NRPF: for
example, know the duties owed to NRPF clients under the Care Act, Children Act &
the MHA
• Familiar with the circumstances and process for the NRPF condition being disapplied
