Course Description
The course aims to develop students' mathematical knowledge, skills, and understanding in a wide range of areas. It covers various topics, including number, algebra, geometry, statistics, and probability. The curriculum is designed to build upon the mathematical concepts and skills learned in earlier years, gradually introducing more complex and advanced concepts.

Every student will undertake an initial assessment to ensure they are enrolled onto the right level course. We employ adaptive learning techniques that focus on gaps in attainment and incorporate individual learning styles. This enables us to tailor the students' learning pathway and target areas for improvement. Our course provides foundations for learning and life, which includes academic (Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4, ready for GCSE Certificate) and personal development opportunities (Award or Certificate in Skills for Employment, Training and Personal Development).

We provide a blended learning approach that combines the best elements of 1:1 or small cohort classroom lessons combined with break out sessions for self-paced e-learning that encourages digital literacy skills and student engagement.

Course Content

Number: Students learn about the properties and operations of different types of numbers, including whole numbers, fractions, decimals, and percentages. They develop skills in calculations, problem-solving, and understanding numerical patterns and relationships.
Algebra: Students study algebraic expressions, equations, and functions. They learn to manipulate algebraic expressions, solve equations, and apply algebraic techniques to solve problems and represent real-life situations mathematically.
Geometry: Students explore the properties and
relationships of geometric shapes, including lines, angles, triangles, quadrilaterals, and circles. They learn about geometric transformations, coordinate geometry, and trigonometry. They also develop skills in spatial visualisation and problem-solving in a geometric context.
Statistics and Probability: Students learn how to collect, organise, and analyse data using various statistical techniques. They study probability theory, including calculating probabilities, understanding sampling methods, and interpreting statistical data and graphs.
