- This course is designed to provide the building blocks in Carpentry and Joinery to prepare learners for further training in the Construction or an Apprenticeship. It covers: Tools, equipment and materials used Basic carpentry and joinery problems Safe working practices Communication N.B. The course may be provided for individual schools on their own premises for a group of learners.

- Learners will be able to: Name tools and equipment used in carpentry and joinery Name materials used in carpentry and joinery Select correct tools, materials and equipment for specific projects Use tools and equipment to perform specific tasks Prepare materials for use without excessive waste or mess Follow safe working practices throughout completion of tasks Communicate with others to perform carpentry and joinery tasks
