Course Outline
Empowering Futures offers industry-relevant short courses designed to introduce young learners to business environments and administrative responsibilities.

The Business Administration course includes:
- Customer service and communication
- Business procedures and operations
- Time management and teamwork
- Employability and digital skills
The programme also integrates Life skills Challenge activities to enhance learner outcomes and encourage real-world application of business knowledge.
Course Modules
This course offers accreditation at either: Level 2 or Level 3 via the ASDAN Certificate of Personal Effectiveness (CoPE) qualification.
The level is determined based on the learner's ability, age, and assessment of initial needs.
Learners completing the Level 3 qualification may be eligible to receive UCAS points, which support progression into further education or training.

Student Expected Outcomes
Empowering Futures aims to ensure that all learners leave the Business Administration programme with meaningful progress in both their academic development and personal growth.

The following outcomes are expected for learners participating in this course:
1. Accredited Achievement Completion of an accredited qualification: ASDAN Certificate of Personal Effectiveness (CoPE) – Level 2 or Level 3 Additional units via Lifeskills Challenge UCAS points (for Level 3 learners) Development of a personalised portfolio of evidence that showcases individual progress and skills.

2. Enhanced Employability Skills Learners will build a strong foundation in: Communication and interpersonal skills Customer service and business etiquette Time management, organisation, and planning Use of digital tools for business (email, word processing, spreadsheets) CV writing, job applications, and interview techniques

3. Personal, Social, and Emotional Development Growth in confidence, resilience, and self-awareness Improved ability to work independently and as part of a team A stronger sense of motivation, direction, and aspiration toward future goals Engagement with goal-setting activities to help learners track and reflect on personal achievements

4. School Reintegration Support (Where Applicable) Where appropriate, learners may be supported to transition back into mainstream education Through improved routine, confidence, and readiness to learn By developing social skills and managing behaviour in a structured setting In collaboration with schools, families, and other agencies

5. Positive Progression and Next Steps Learners will be supported to explore: Further education options (e.g., college, sixth form) Apprenticeships or traineeships Additional vocational courses within Empowering Futures Volunteering or part-time work opportunities

6. Attendance and Participation Learners will demonstrate: Regular attendance on their chosen day (Tuesday or Thursday) Active participation and engagement in lessons Respect for the learning environment and peers

Admissions Criteria
Age Requirement: Applicants must be aged 13 or over at the time of enrolment.

Eligibility :Must be eligible to study in the UK. Open to learners in alternative provision, home education, or mainstream education who are seeking vocational experience and skills in business administration.

Academic Requirements: No formal qualifications are required. However, learners should be able to:
Engage in basic English and Maths tasks (an initial assessment may be carried out to support learning needs if need be).
Use or develop basic digital skills for administrative tasks.

Behaviour and Attendance Learners must demonstrate: Respectful behaviour toward staff and peers. A commitment to attending sessions regularly and actively participating.

Support Needs: Empowering Futures is an inclusive provider. Learners with SEND or additional support needs are encouraged to apply. We aim to provide appropriate support and reasonable adjustments to meet individual needs.

Referral and Enrolment Referrals can be made by: Schools Local authorities Parents/carers (for home-educated learners)

Youth and support services : All prospective learners will be invited to attend a meeting to view the provision, meet the staff, and determine whether the environment and course are suitable for their needs and goals.
Staff Experience
At Empowering Futures, we take pride in delivering high-quality, supportive learning experiences led by skilled and passionate staff.

The team responsible for delivering the Business Administration course have a wealth of relevant expertise and experience, including:

1. Qualified and Experienced Tutors All course tutors hold relevant teaching qualifications (e.g., Level 5 Diploma in Education and Training or equivalent). Tutors have a minimum of 5 years' experience in delivering vocational and employability programmes. Staff possess sector-specific qualifications and/or real-world experience in business administration, customer service, and office-based roles.

2. Alternative Provision and SEND Expertise Tutors have extensive experience working within alternative education, supporting learners who may be: Out of mainstream school Home-educated Living with SEND, SEMH, or EHCPs Staff are trained in differentiation, inclusive practice, and trauma-informed approaches.

3. Behaviour and Safeguarding Knowledge All staff are fully trained in: Safeguarding and child protection Prevent duty Behaviour management and de-escalation strategies Tutors build positive relationships and promote a culture of respect and aspiration.

4. Proven Track Record of Learner Success Empowering Futures staff have supported hundreds of young people to: Gain qualifications Build confidence and employability Transition into further education, apprenticeships, or employment

5. Ongoing Professional Development Staff regularly attend CPD sessions, including updates on: Education policy and safeguarding Digital learning tools Mental health awareness and youth support strategies Tutors contribute to internal quality assurance processes and reflective teaching practices.

Additional Notes
Group Size and Delivery Format: The course is designed to be flexible and personalised to meet the needs of each learner.
We deliver the course via:
1-to-1 sessions where needed (e.g. for learners with high needs or specific support requirements)
Small group delivery with a maximum of 4 learners per group to ensure focused attention and meaningful interaction.
This model allows for effective differentiation, strong pastoral support, and the opportunity for learners to build confidence in a low-pressure environment.

Minimum Group Size: The minimum group size is 1 learner, allowing for bespoke 1-to-1 tuition where group delivery is not suitable. We aim to group learners when appropriate, but never exceed 4 per session.

Minimum Days per Week Learners are required to attend a minimum of one day per week, choosing either: Tuesday, or Thursday
There is no requirement to attend both days, though additional support days may be arranged by agreement for learners requiring further engagement or catch-up.

Flexible and Inclusive Sessions are scheduled to ensure consistency and to support routine and responsibility.
Empowering Futures works with referring schools and agencies to ensure timetables are suitable and align with EHCP targets or reintegration plans.
