We have five low arousal and low noise environments in which we deliver our support and services, Hood Lane Farm, Ansley Allotments, The Old Barn in Arley Village, The Gym in Arley and The new pavilion at Gun Hill Fields. We offer support and services in five low-arousal and low-noise environments: Hood Lane Farm, Ansley Allotments, The Old Barn in Aley Village, The Gym in Arley, and the new pavilion at Gun Hill Fields.
At The Old Barn, we provide a therapeutic learning space complemented by a private garden and cooking area, where we offer mentoring and post-16 learning and curriculum opportunities.
Hood Lane Farm serves as a therapeutic mentoring space with exclusive access to a fishing pond. Our ""Tackle Minds"" fishing programme is designed to reduce stress by positively impacting wellbeing. This activity fosters a connection with nature, promotes mindfulness, enhances social connections, and encourages physical activity.
Gun Hill is a mentoring space where young people can engage in and explore various sports. Physical activity, sports, and physical education share many qualities with trauma-informed practices, such as promoting relationships, inclusion, and overall physical and mental well-being. The aim of this space is to provide trauma-informed physical activity programmes for young people.
The Gym in Arley offers a variety of activities that allow participants to choose their level of involvement and communication style. This approach fosters a sense of agency and empowerment, creating opportunities for learning, skill mastery, personal growth, enjoyment, and movement. It also helps build self-esteem, encourages participation, and supports individuals in working towards their goals.
Our active mentoring, learning, and engagement strategies provide emotional experiences that enable individuals to strengthen their unique abilities and reinforce a positive self-perception.
Allotment gardening offers a stress-relieving sanctuary, promotes a healthier lifestyle, creates social opportunities, fosters valuable connections with nature, and encourages personal growth. This popular pastime is believed to have a positive impact on health and well-being.
Each of our spaces provides opportunities to complete tasks related to personal development, core curriculum offerings, digital learning, and individualised learning plans.
