The Introduction to Motorsport Engineering programme is an accredited training programme from Skills and Education Group, the aim of this programme is to take learners through five areas of motorsport
engineering. Using a range of theory and practical tasks learners will develop their skills both academically and practically. Each learner will experience go karting at the end of this session. - Course Modules

Unit 1 - Health and Safety for Motor Sport Engineering
Learners will explore the responsibility of the employer and employee and the requirements of basic health and safety legislation.
Unit 2 – Mechanical Engineering in Motor Sport
Learners will work both practically getting hands on with the karts to perform servicing and repairs along with evidencing their practical skills in their classroom portfolio.
Unit 3 – Electrical Propelled Vehicles
Learners will find out about the main components of an electrical propelled vehicle and how these differ from the petrol engines we have long been accustomed to.
Unit 4 – Track Design & Repair
Learners will develop their manual skills working with basic assembly tools to make repairs to the track. Learners will be walked through track design including the best practice in place by the NKA.
Unit 5 – STEM Career Opportunities
In this unit, learners will explore the opportunities in Science, Technology, Engineering & Maths within the motorsport industry. Learners will take a deeper look into each role and plan their own route into the industry. - Awarding Body
