Overview
Learn the fundamentals of drawing by looking at shape, shadow and highlights. In this course you will be able to draw in simple perspective and use shape to create form. You will also be drawing with pencil and charcoal and learning how each medium works. This course is for beginners to give confidence in yourself as an artist and in your drawing, to progress onto other courses.

ENGAGING WITH YOUR PERSONAL LEARNING RECORD (PLR) PAPERWORK
All community learning courses require learners to engage with PLR paperwork. At the start of the course, you will record and update your learning aims which you will work towards during the duration of the course. Your tutor will assess your learning throughout the beginning, mid-point and end of the course to provide written feedback and document your progression.
Course level and content
This course is suitable for beginners.


• Use a range of drawing materials including pencils and charcoal
• Develop practical skills in basic drawing, sketching and transferring images from photographs
• Learn form and shape and how to create tones and highlights
What do you need?
• Drawing pencils
• Putty rubber
• A4 sketch pad
• Graded pencils such as HB, 2B, 4B, 2H, charcoal if possible
