Reason for felling
Canley Crematorium chapel has suffered damage due to the root activity of the adjacent 6 Black Pine trees. Their roots are sucking up the moisture in the soil which, has led to subsidence and so we need to remove them to safeguard the buildings structural integrity.

These trees were planted in the 1990s and so are quite young and will be replaced with new, semi mature sized trees of varying species elsewhere in the crematorium during this winter’s planting period.

The space next to the chapel will be transformed into a biodiversity area with plants that will not bring the same level subsidence risk but, will provide valuable habitat.
