Hold an event in Coventry City Centre

Information and guidance for those who wish to book a space in the city centre for an event. Public space in the city centre, parks space throughout the city and some city highways can be considered for public events

You'll need to supply details of your event, including organiser details and event information.

If you would like to check diary dates for availability of public spaces please contact events@coventry.gov.uk first before making a booking enquiry.


Please note that we require your request a minimum of 4 weeks before your event, if your event is a small event.

We require a longer lead time for larger events see below:

  • Small events under 500 attendees, filming: 4 weeks
  • Medium events 500 – 2000 attendees: 8 weeks
  • Large events up to 10000 attendees: 12 weeks
  • Very Large events over 10000 attendees: 16 weeks

Event Safety Guide

The guide has checklists and examples to follow to assist you in your event planning. It does not replace HSE guidance with regard to events but it does, hopefully, make the guidance easier to understand and implement. It will also make clear to you what your responsibilities are with regard to hosting a safe and yet fun event.

The Event Safety Guide has been created to assist those new to event organising and those who are experienced in events and want to use city council parks and open spaces as event sites.

Temporary events notice

Temporary event notices (TENs) are best used to licence small events which take place over a short period of time. They are especially useful for people outside of the licensed trade such as community events organisers, PTAs, charities to license events.
