Community Events Enablement Grant (Pride in Place Impact fund)

We're designing a new grants programme to help community groups run local events.

We know there can be different challenges to organising events, but we want to hear what your group needs most. Your feedback will help us make the best use of the funding available and shape a grants programme that supports local communities.

Made possible through investment from the Pride in Place Impact Fund, the programme could offer grants of £2,000 to £5,000 for small-scale capital projects, including:

  • Equipment – such as gazebos, tables and chairs, PA systems, staging, lighting or reusable event equipment.
  • Repairs and improvements – such as repairs to community buildings, decorating, accessibility improvements or improvements to outdoor spaces used for events.
  • Infrastructure – such as storage facilities, permanent signage, electrical or water supply improvements, or other long-lasting assets that support events.
  • Other capital investments that help community groups deliver events and activities for local people.

Please note that funding cannot be used on revenue spend which includes staff costs, performers, marketing, catering, hire, cleaning, consumables or any other day-today running expenses.

Who would be eligible to apply for funding?

We want to hear from all community groups, particularly smaller and grassroots organisations, as well as groups that have not previously received funding from the Council. You do not need any previous experience of applying for funding to complete the expression of interest.

Expression of Interest

At this stage, we're asking groups to complete an expression of interest to help us understand the level of demand and shape the final grant programme. We’re also asking for feedback to helps us design a programme that’s best suits community needs.

Please note that this is not a funding application, and submitting an expression of interest does not guarantee that funding will be available or awarded.

Those who submit an expression of interest will be contacted when the grants programme is live.
