This Privacy Notice explains how personal information is going to be used, what for, who it will be shared with and why.

Why do we collect and use Personal Data about you? 

We collect the information to inform the childcare sufficiency assessment to ensure we have enough provision within the city.

We use this information to:

  • Ensure there are sufficient childcare places in all areas of Coventry
  • Help us develop new childcare places with interested parties
  • Inform the Coventry City Council Childcare Sufficiency Assessment report
  • Process the prize draw if you choose to enter.

Our lawful basis for processing personal data is Consent.

What personal information do we collect about you?

Survey

The information collected in the survey is held anonymously and collated into statistical data.

  • Area of the city you live within.
  • Household makeup - such as working or training.

Prize Draw

If you requested to be included in the prize draw, the following personal information is also required:

We collect and hold the following information about you until the prize draw has taken place.

  • Full name
  • Telephone number
  • Email address

Who do we share your Personal Data with?

We share data with:

The information you provide is shared as statistical data. Individuals cannot be identified.

  • Other internal Council departments
  • Elected Members

How long will we keep your information?

We will only keep your information regarding which area of the city you live within to inform childcare places in the future. We will keep this information for one year from 22 March 2024, whilst the data is being analysed.

Your rights

You have the right to:

  1. Ask to see the personal information we hold about you
  2. Withdraw consent (see below)
  3. Ask us to change information we hold about you if it is wrong
  4. Ask us to delete the information we hold about you
  5. Ask us to limit the way we use your personal information
  6. Ask for human intervention regarding decisions made about you by a computer
  7. Data portability (have your data transferred to another Authority)
  8. Complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office
  9.

Withdrawal of Consent

Where personal data is processed on the basis of consent, you will have the right to withdraw that consent.

Complaints

You have the right to submit a complaint if you are unhappy with the way your request is handled or disagree with a decision made by the council regarding your data. In these circumstances, you can contact the Data Protection Team (DPO) and request a review of the decision.
