Hedgerows

The Hedgerows Regulations 1997 [http://www.legislation.gov.uk/uksi/1997/1160/made] came into force under Section 97 of the Environment Act 1995 [http://www.legislation.gov.uk/ukpga/1995/25/contents]. The regulations allow the planning authority to protect 'important' countryside hedgerows by controlling their removal through a system of notification. Hedgerows within a garden or forming a garden boundary are not covered by this legislation.

Find out information about hedgerows, removing hedgerows or work on countryside hedgerows that you own or manage [https://www.gov.uk/guidance/countryside-hedgerows-regulation-and-management] on the Gov.UK website.

If you are looking for information regarding high hedges, this can be found in the Planning Enforcement section [http://www.coventry.gov.uk/info/110/planning/1343/planning_enforcement/3] of the website.
