Newsletter and Reports - Spring Term

Due to the Mock exams, taking place in the first 2 weeks after the Easter Holidays, the Spring Newsletter and Reports will be released alongside Parent Consultation (Thursday 2 May 2024).

We would like to take this opportunity to wish all our pupils and their families a restful break over the Easter Holidays.

Mr Takolia.

Tigger is coming to visit!

After Easter holidays, we have an extra special visitor joining us called Tigger. Tigger is a pet therapy dog and pupils will have a chance to meet him and learn about how he helps people.

You will need to book in to meet Tigger and you can do this via Mr Green or Mrs Palmer. It’s sure to be a ‘pawesome event’.

Date: Tuesday 9 April 12:45pm - 2:15pm.

Location: Pod Classroom

Thank you!

Caught you reading competition

Following today's assembly (14 March 2024), Mrs Quinney has launched the 'Caught you reading competition'.

We want pupils to take pictures of them reading in the most inventive of places. This can be done over the Easter Holidays.

It might be, that you are reading:

  • Abroad in a different country
  • In a nice park with family
  • On a family holiday
  • In your own back garden

Wherever you are, it's easy to pick up a book and read! You can submit your photos after the holidays to Mrs Quinney and be added to our school display.

Good Luck.

Bookflix

Bookflix title image

What is Bookflix?

Bookflix is a reward scheme which builds a love of reading and learning: It is an engaging and fun way for everyone to share a love of reading whilst being rewarded for it. The vast majority of pupils at WPA love to read so, this is a fantastic way to share what we are reading and help encourage others. At the end of every day, we share what we have been reading. This helps develop an understanding of other people's viewpoints and taking in perspectives that we might never have considered.

How to get rewarded:

All you need to do is read and be rewarded for it! Every time you read a book and fill in a review you will get a stamp. Once you have 5 stamps you will get a voucher.

Book Reviews:

Writing a book review is incredibly important as it helps readers make informed decisions about which books to read. Reviews provide insights into the book's quality, style, themes, and whether it aligns with the reader's preferences. We have a Bookfix review book at WPA filled with all the pupil’s book reviews to help and inspire us on what to read next.

Remember you need to fill in a book review to get a stamp.

Pupil Online Portal Login

Online Learning Environment

The HES Virtual Learning Environment (VLE) is a vital web-based learning resource enabling students to access all courses and resources for the subjects they are studying in addition to a variety of other useful information to help them at school.

To access the Online Learning Platform, students require their school email address with the (@celches.coventry.sch.uk) suffix. A personal email address will not allow the student to gain access.

If students are unable to login to the system for any reason, please contact Mr Takolia as soon as possible.
