Public Health services continue to operate but have been amended in line with government advice, to adhere to social distancing guidelines and to support people in isolation.
- Unless noted below, all services continue to operate and still accept new referrals.
- Generally, more support will be offered by telephone, Microsoft Teams and other remote means rather than face-to-face contact. In most cases group work has been suspended.
- Drop-in clinics at many services have changed – please check the service’s website or social media before travelling to a clinic without an appointment.
- All helplines and enquiry telephone services continue to operate as normal. This includes the Safe To Talk domestic abuse helpline on 0800 111 4998.
- For more detail please check the service’s website or social media.
Please note:
- Clean needles and other injecting equipment remain available via pharmacy needle exchange services as normal
- Health and wellbeing advice and support is available from the Best You health portal.
Smoking and COVID-19 (Coronavirus)
Evidence suggests smokers are at greater risk of complications from coronavirus, including:
- getting acute respiratory infections
- the infection lasting longer
- the infection being more serious than it would be for someone who does not smoke
Support to stop smoking – including structured support and access to medications – is available from HLS Coventry on 0800 122 3780.
